Pavlina Spiliopoulou, MD, PhD, on Locally Advanced or Metastatic Melanoma: First-Line mRNA-4359 Plus Pembrolizumab

Posted: Friday, May 22, 2026

Pavlina Spiliopoulou, MD, PhD, of the University of Glasgow, reviews phase I/II findings from the mRNA-4359-P101 study, which focused on the safety, efficacy, and translational data from arm 2a of the phase II dose-expansion part of the trial. mRNA-4359, an immune evasion-targeted cancer antigen therapy, encodes epitopes of PD-L1 and IDO1 antigens and is designed to elicit T-cell responses against tumor and immunosuppressive cells; it is being tested in combination with pembrolizumab as a first-line regimen for patients with locally advanced or metastatic melanoma.
